Our Story
Pastor Jerry and Lori Roames have always dreamed of starting a church that connected people to God, connected people to each other, and connected people to our community.
After serving in several large churches, and starting two others, Pastor Jerry and Lori felt the Lord calling them to pastor the tri-county area, specifically Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties. That calling birthed the process of beginning Connection Point Church.
They dreamed of a church that would reach people, right where they were, and connect them to everything that God has for their life.
We launched officially on October 6, 2019, at The Villages Elementary School of Lady Lake. We were a portable church, setting up and tearing down every week, for a year and half. We were very excited when God led us to Fruitland Park and this amazing campus in 2021.
The life-giving message of the gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday services, and the relationships built through small groups are all reasons why Connection Point Church is effectively reaching people. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple, and people are free to seek God with passion.
We continue to follow God’s direction for our church and seek avenues to help more and more people know God, find freedom,discover purpose, and make a difference.
OUR VISION
Lake County has over 396,000 people, yet only a small percentage are a part of a life-giving faith community. We believe God is preparing thousands more who will come to know the hope found in Jesus, so generations may be changed forever. The time has come for Connection Point Church to begin a new chapter in the story God is writing. We are launching a 3-year generosity initiative called FOR THE ONE, allowing us to secure a future and provide a beautiful experience for the one walking through our doors.
The revamp will create a new experience to our current building and will increase our capacity to reach more adults, students, and children.
